Is Quiet
The clock tolls,
Somewhere in the dark,
And all is quiet,
A voice calls,
The night watch,
All is well,
I sit in the window,
And watch the moon,
Shadows dance behind me,
I ignore them,
One steps forward,
I turn to watch it,
Curiosity sparkles in my eyes,
Wide innocent eyes,
A tear rolls down it's dark cheek,
So young, so innocent,
It whispers,
I pause with a shiver,
Who are you?
I can hear the quaver,
Fear in my voice,
So does it,
No time to cry,
No time to think,
It's all over,
Slowly the monster stands,
No longer young and innocent,
I fall to my knees,
I see the blood,
It's too late,
I look up,
It's eyes look back at me,
A bell tolls,
All is quiet,
The night watch passes,
Under the now empty window,
It turns,
Everything goes dark,
The monster leaves,
And all is not well...
